Hummingbird – Nina Fraser
‘Birdsong’ began in early 2014 when a tiny Goldcrest regularly appeared in a large conifer tree right, outside my kitchen window. Fascinated by the way he resembled. A ball in the winter and returned in the spring looking so much thinner. I attempted to paint him with as few brushstrokes as possible. I discovered Indian Ink was the most effective material. Taught myself to paint in this style, influenced by Japanese Zen paintings. From this small beginning Birdsong was born. ” Nina Fraser
