Ed Dingli is an illustrator who mixes hand-drawn with digital processes, using vibrant colour palettes, whimsical shapes and a bold graphic style. Originally from the island of Malta, Ed lived & worked in London for a few years before moving to Portugal to spend more time in nature, being involved in permaculture projects while settling into his new home.
His work is influenced by his position with one foot in the countryside of Colares and the other in the city of Lisboa. Nature provides inspiration in an infinite amount of forms, colours and shapes, all in constant change with the seasons. The city provides endless unpredictable inspiration: the neat typography on apartment door bells, a handwritten receipt from a fruit vendor, pasted up indie film posters on telephone boxes, an earshot of amusing conversation from a passerby. His style is continually developing as he experiments with form and technique.
